Programs > Certified Nursing Assistant Program

Objectives:
To teach essential information to allow the student to become certified and function
as skilled Nursing Assistant.

Course length: 4 weeks

Prerequisites: None

Contact Hours: 90 hours

Course Description:
This course prepares students to become reliable members of a Nursing team , by teaching the legal and professional norms necessary to maintain wellness of clients. The course will teach the daily activities required to compliment other health care professionals in a hospital or Nursing home setting

Course Length: 1 year, 4 quarters

Credits: 60

Classes Start: Quarterly

Course Description:
The Medical Assistant course prepares students to perform both medical administrative and clinical duties in the health care setting. Administrative functions you will learn include: receptionist duties, scheduling, record maintenance, and introduction to billing and insurance. The clinical aspect of the course will include: learning the sterilization process, proper charting and rooming skills, routine laboratory testing, phlebotomy, injections, and how to assist in procedures. The final three months of the course is an on-site internship as a Medical Assistant, as required for state certification.

 

Programs > Medical Administrative Assistant

Course Length: 9 months, 3 quarters with the 4th quarter externship

Course Description:
The Medical Administrative Assistant course will provide students with the customer service, communications, and keyboarding skills necessary to deal with responsibilities in a clinical, office,
or hospital setting. Classes will focus on computer knowledge, ethics, medical terminology, and
basic transcription. In the field, a Medical Administrative Assistant’s responsibilities include: file maintenance, coding, insurance, scheduling, referrals, or other various office duties that
may arise in a health care setting.
